    Services were held Friday morning for Charles Thompson, 86, a long-time resident and retired farmer of the Brewster Community.
    Services were held at the First Methodist Church in Brewster with Rev. H. Gene Shoemaker officiating. Burial was in the Brewster Cemetery.
    He was born June 12, 1885 in Missouri and came to Kansas in 1903. He farmed with his father north of Brewster for many years. In 1943, he moved to Brewster and lived there until he became ill. The past four years have been spent in a rest home.
    Thompson's parents, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
    Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Addie McAdams of Wray, Colo., and Mrs. Bill Wright of Brewster; three brothers, Fred Thompson, Brewster, Ivan Thompson, Goodland and Alex Thompson, Denver.
    Harrison Chapel of Colby handled arrangememnts.

    Obituary
    Charle Thompson was born in Mercer County, Missouri, June 12, 1885. He died in the Good Samaritan Home in Ellsworth, Kansas, August 25, 1971 at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 14 days.
    He came to Kansas with his parents in 1903 in a covered wagon. He farmed with his father north of Brewster. In 1943 he moved into Brewster where he lived until he became ill. For the past four years he has been in rest homes.
    He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Addie McAdams of Wray, Colorado; Mrs. Bill Wright of Brewster; three brothers, Fred Thompson of Brewster, Ivan Thompson of Goodland, Alex Thompson of Denver, Colorado, a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
    He was converted and baptized in the Pilgrim Holiness Church.
