    Memorial service for Austin A. Thompson, 31 of Fort Smith, Arkansas will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Vian, Oklahoma. Burial of cremains will follow at Round Mountain Cemetery in Gore, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
    He was born on December 11, 1991 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Suzanne Renee (McMahan) and Scott Allen Thompson and passed away on July 6, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Mr. Thompson was a truck driver.
    Survivors are one son, Vincent J. Thompson; fiancé, Lexa Diaz of the home; mother, Renee McMahan of Vian, OK; father, Scott Thompson and Rhonda of Vian, OK; brother, Joshua Ryan Bliss and Melissa of Tahlequah, OK; niece, Emily Dodd of Sallisaw, OK; great-niece, Jade Dodd of Sallisaw, OK; three aunts, Pat Ballard of Gore, OK, Shawnee Livers and Richard of Evening Shade, OK and Tamara Ritz and Ken of Broomfield, CO; four uncles, Tom Ballard and Sue of Gore, OK, Marty McMahan and Tammy of Tulsa, OK, Buck Locust and Carmella of Vian, OK and Jim Thompson and Traci of Fort Lupton, CO; three step-brothers, Ryan, Cody and Shane Jordan, all of Vian, OK; and numerous other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Margie Montgomery, Raymond McMahan, James Thompson, Louis and Vivian Locust and uncle, Jay Thompson.
    Viewing will be 1 ? 8 pm Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw where the family will greet 6 ? 8 pm.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Austin Thompson Memorial Fund at Arvest Bank.

    Note from Dwight: When I originally read the article below it didnt make since to me, I even pulled up Google Maps and walked through what they were saying happened, it still didnt make since to me. Later in the day they updated their report, changing the car and Motorcycle around, and at that point I could see what happened. Either way I wish it had never happened.

    Crash in Fort Smith leaves one motorcyclist dead
    According to police, the crash took place between Towson Avenue and Fresno Street.
    FORT SMITH, Ark. ? According to the Fort Smith Police Department, a motorcyclist died after a crash with a car at Fresno Street and Towson Avenue on July 6, 2023.
    The crash report, says the motorcycle was being driven by 31-year-old Austin Thompson of Vian at around 7:40 p.m. when the crash happened. Thomspon was headed northbound on Towson Ave while a 2006 HHR Chevrolet was also on Towson in the turning lane to go east on Fresno St, officials say.
    According to the crash report, that's when the motorcycle turned in front of the Chevrolet on a yellow flashing light, the Chevrolet tried to stop but hit the motorcycle head-on, killing Thompson.

    Austin Thompson, 31, of Vian died around 7:41 p.m. Thursday after the 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was riding north on Towson Avenue in Fort Smith collided with a 2006 Chevrolet HHR that turned in front of him, according to a report from Fort Smith police.
    The driver of the Chevrolet, 35-year-old Christopher Grigsby of Van Buren, was taken to an area hospital for treatment, the report says.
    An officer investigating the crash reported that the weather was clear and the road was dry at the time.
