Schroth Sr. DONALD G. SCHROTH SR., 72, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Thomson, Ill., he was a Shift Supervisor for International Harvester for 25 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Survived by his son, Donald, Jr. (Robin) Schroth of Fort Wayne; daughter, Valerie (Jim) Samalikas of Fort Wayne; son, Douglas (Liz) Schroth of Muskogee, Okla.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Sandy Young and Virginia Thompson, both of Denver, Colo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly, in 1997; brothers, Bud and Harold Schroth; and sisters, June Poultry[Pulfrey] and Eva Wooster[Wurster]. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Good Hope, 7215 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior to Mass. Fr. Mark Gurtner officiating. Calling is also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park, 1320 E. Dupont Road, with Vigil at 3:30 p.m. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, with Military Graveside Rites by the U.S. Army. Memorials to Alzheimer's Association or Sunrise Assisted Living, Fort Wayne.
