  • Notes  Died:
    • Michael Laurence Dickson was born December 29, 1982 and passed away September 30, 2022.
Michael was born the son of Donna J. (Hinkle) Dickson and Warren Dickson. He graduated Edmond North High School in 2003.
In the early years, Michael enjoyed playing games, video and otherwise, with his brother James. James always helped to guide and care for his older brother when they shared regular visits to doctors and clinics of various kinds.
In spite of the time spent with surgeries, procedures, scans, and other tests, Michael was a happy guy. His fondness for everything '80s was a source of joy to him and those around him. His many friends included people involved with his mother's various theatre companies, such as the Street Players in Norman, the Pollard Theatre in Guthrie, and the UCO Theatre Department.
Michael was particularly proud of the time he spent on stage, playing a Dying Cowboy in school as well as various roles in the Pollard's annual Christmas Carol. He would never hesitate to remind folks that he saved the show one night when all the kids cast as Tiny Tim were ill and he took over to proudly proclaim, "God bless us every one!"
In the years following Mom's passing, Michael, Aurora the service dog, and Dad enjoyed a life in the '80s. This included viewings and re-viewings of all Ghostbusters films, Back to the Future in all its versions, and endless DVDs featuring, among others, episodes of The Monkees.
There were many lunch excursions, especially following Dad's retirement. Each day was a trip for Michael and Aurora and Dad to a different part of the metro to fetch food. Along the way, the music of Back to the Future played to make the journey happily '80s.
Michael leaves behind his brother James, his maternal grandmother Maxine Hinkle, his father Warren, and Warren's friend Beth Fleming. In recent years, he lost his mother Donna, his uncle Gail, his good friend Jim Ong, and Sammie, his first service dog.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and staff members at various medical institutions who have assisted with Michael's care, including:
Dr. Erin Glasgow at Integris in Oklahoma City, who has been a caring and inspiring helper for the last twenty years.
Dr. Harry Malech at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease in Bethesa, MD.
Dr. Eileen Fox in Norman, OK, Michael's first doctor.
Dr. Neil Crittenden at Integris in Oklahoma City.
Many other doctors, nurses, staffers, and caregivers over the years.
Graveside services for Michael will be Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Gracelawn Cemetery, 1407 N. Boulevard Edmond, OK 73034. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 - 5:00 PM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 S. Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034.
