Susan Bernice (Susie) Anderson was called home by her creator on January 4, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. Susie was the eldest of six children born to Charles M. and Kathryn J. Wolfe. She was born on April 24, 1950 in Denver, CO. The family moved to Alamogordo in 1957. Susie attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School and the Alamogordo Public Schools, graduating from Alamogordo High School in the class of 1968. Susie played in the High School marching band and attended St. Jude's parish for many years with her family. After high school, Susie attended NMSU in Las Cruces, NM, for a couple of years before turning her attention to work, marriage and, eventually, motherhood. Her working life found her in the employ of organizations including the San Antonio Spurs Basketball Club, New Mexico's 12th Judicial District Court, the Oregon Board of Parole and Farmers Insurance. Susie was the director of Volunteer Programs at the Alamogordo Senior Center from 1990-1998, including the Retired Senior Volunteer, Foster Grandparents, and Senior Companions Programs.
Susie was married twice, first to William L. Wolfgram, with whom she had a son, William C. (Bill) Wolfgram, and to Lonnie L. Anderson, from whom she was widowed in 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son, Bill Wolfgram of Alamogordo; her siblings, Kathy (Gene) Cecava, Mary Prosoco, and Tim (Terry) Wolfe, all of Alamogordo; Jim (Lisa) Wolfe of Salt Lake City, UT; and Monica Fisk of Ruidoso; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Susie tried to live according to the Christian virtues of hospitality, love and service to others, and the love she received at the end of her life reflected beautifully upon her as she departed.
The Anderson family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
