  Died: Allen Edwin Fisher Obituary Downs: Allen Edwin Fisher, 83, Downs, Kansas, passed away Jul 24, 2022, after a two and a half year battle with cancer. He was born Mar. 14, 1939 to Nora (Ahlvers) and Edwin Fisher on their farm in Glen Elder, Kansas. Allen's family and four children grew up three miles southeast of Cawker City. In 1943 Allen lost his father Edwin in a farming accident which lead to Nora selling the farm to move in with Fred and Louise Ahlvers. In the summer of 1944 they then moved to glen Elder where Allen attended 12 years of school and in 1956 worked with Smokey Casey {at the Co-op Filling Station] until Feb 1963. At that time he was drafted into the US Army. Allen served one year in Viet Nam from 1964 to 1965, one year in Germany and one year in Ft Stony, VA. Allen was honorably discharged from the Army in December of 1966. In 1967 he married and to the union Terry and Allen, Jr. were born. He later remarried and had four step-children. Survivors include his children: Terry (Doug) Haws, Allen (Jennifer) Fisher; step-children, Kevin Sullivan, Kathy McCart, Kirk(Jeana) Sullivan, and Kent Sullivan, and sister, Becky Marzolf. Graveside service was held at 10AM on Saturday, Aug 6 at Downs Cemetery.
