Notes - According to the 1870 Kansas censes he was 13 years old and living with a clergyman, Benjamin Lewis, and family in Lecompton, Douglas County Kns. Post office Clinton. Possible adoption.
He married Mabel Carle in Colorado. He had been a school teacher in Kansas and moved to Colorado in 1879. He was a faro bank dealer, stage driver for Nott's Stage, miner, hauled ore from Peru Creek to Keystone railhead. He also had a general store in Montezuma and a saloon in Dillon.
