LANARK - Erma C. Williams, 93, of Lanark, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society - Mount Carroll. She worked in the cafeteria at Lanark High School until retiring.
She was born Aug. 24, 1918, the daughter of Floyd and Ida (Michael) Tripp in Salem Township, Carroll County. Erma married Robert Williams on Aug. 24, 1936, in Freeport. He preceded her in death in 2003. She was a member of Church of the Brethren, Lanark.
She is survived by three children, Mina (Wayne) Linker of Chadwick, Linda (Francis) Snider of Milledgeville and Albert (Bonnie) Williams of Lanark; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandsons; one sister, Mildred Tripp of Sterling; one brother, Allen (Georgia) Tripp of Sterling; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Hazel of Savanna and Florence Tripp of Chadwick.
She also was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Brethren, with John Sgro, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Lanark Cemetery. Arrangements were completed by Russell-Frank Funeral Home, Lanark.
A memorial has been established.
