Previous Accession Numbers (Surgical Pathology and Cytology):
Clinical History: 20 year old gravida 2 para 1 white female with long history of spotting, negative FHTS on 14 (illegible) fetus at 19 weeks GABD. Previous surgery T Caesarian and vaginal delivery 1980. Last menstrual period -- 07/04/86.
Gross: Received in a single container filled with formalin designated with the patient's name and number is a placenta which weighs 60 grams and measures 8 cm. in diameter. Eccentrically attached to the placenta is a 15 cm. three vessel umbilical cord. the umbilical cord is attached 2 cm. from the placental edge. The membranes are glistening and translucent. In the same container is a fetus which measures 11 cm. crown/rump and 15 cm. crown/heel. Attached to the fetus there is an 11 cm. three vessel unbilical cord. Grossly the fetus unremarkable. Internal examination shows autolyzed internal organs. External genitalia are male. Representative section from the placenta is submitted in cassette (A), from the membrane and unbilical cord in cassette (B).
Microscopic: Exained.
Diagnosis: Male Fetus (Gross Only)
