  Mary's Daughter Thelma has said that her mother had died in childbirth with a boy who also died. Both were buried in the same grave. Family lore says that Mary's family didn't really like Ralph and when she died, they wanted to take Catherine and Thelma and he wouldn't let them, so he took the girls by wagon and left. Died: Beloit Daily Call, Beloit, KS - 20 May 1908 page 4 Mrs Ralpj Nickolson died at her home near Hunter, Saturdau night, after a short illness. She was formerly Mary Reinking, 3rd oldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Chris Reinking who live 2 miles northwest of Tipton. A large procession followed her remains to the Lutheran cemetery Monday afternoon. Mr and Mrs Ben Ottley, of Sequin, came down to attend the funeral. Mrs Ottley being a sister of Mrs Nickolson. The deceased lady left a husband, two children, parents, sisters and brothers to mourn her loss. Her mother will take the care of the children.
