Notes - Mary's Daughter Thelma has said that her mother had died in childbirth with a boy who also died. Both were buried in the same grave.
- Family lore says that Mary's family didn't really like Ralph and when she died, they wanted to take Catherine and Thelma and he wouldn't let them, so he took the girls by wagon and left.
