Carson Lee Gerdes, son of Herman and Ramona (Lunzman) Gerdes was born on April 6, 1947 in Aberdeen. He was raised on the family farm near Hecla. This is also the area where he attended school. Carson was united in marriage to Susan Schroth on November 8, 1975 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hecla. They made their home on the Gerdes family farm where they raised their family. This is where Carson continued to call home until the time of his death. Carson was a wonderful man and will be missed by all those who knew him. Carson was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he was currently serving as the president of the church council. He was also a member of the local JC's. Carson had a love for farming, flying, muscle cars and motorcycles. He was especially proud of his Super Bee and enjoyed riding his Harley. He loved to travel and enjoyed camping and big game hunting. Carson was also an avid trap shooter. He will be remembered by many as being very particular and having a fondness for a clean shop, cars and equipment. Carson especially loved his family and cherished the time he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren. Grateful for having shared Carson's life are his wife Susan, Hecla; two daughters, Joni (Jason) Clark, Aberdeen and Heather Gerdes (Cortney Dinger), Hecla; three grandchildren, Aubrey, Kaden and Addison Clark and three brothers, Harold, Harlen and Gale Gerdes. Carson was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Ramona Gerdes. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to St. John's Lutheran Church. Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.
