Notes - David Daniel Ehredt was the 6th child of John and Barbara Ehredt. He was born on their farm and moved with them to Elizabeth, Illinois when he was 3 years old. He graduated from Elizabeth High School. Then worked 2 years in McQuillans Grocery Store before enlisting in the U.S. Army on 01 Apr 1918. He served with the 82nd Field Artillery at Ft. Bliss, Texas.
He married Ina Catherine Ravenscraft on 01 Feb 1919. They had 3 children. They farmed his mother’s farm for 22 years. Then moved to Hanover, Illinois where he worked as a foreman at the Savanna Ordnance Depot for 20 years. He bought the farm when his mother died, later selling. When he retired he was the Hanover Township Assessor for 7 years.
He was an active member of the Masons. First becoming a member in Elizabeth, then transferring to Hanover. He joined the Consistory in Freeport, Illinois and the Shrine 32nd Degree at Rockford, Illinois. He served as “Master” in Elizabeth and in Hanover.
