Retired machinist, 64
Dwight Lee Thompson of Commerce City, a retired machinist, died Tuesday in Denver. He was 64.
Services were yesterday at Olinger Mortuary. Interment was in Highland Cemetery.
He was born Aug. 4, 1926, in Edson, Kan., and served with the Merchant Marine during World War II. On Jan. 30, 1963, he married Virginia E. Schroth in Denver.
Thompson was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7945 and Eagles Lodge No. 3461.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Connie J. Thompson, Scottsdale, Ariz.; three sons, Robert L., Thibodaux, La., Timothy L., Malibu, Calif., and Dwight L. Jr., Commerce City; three stepsons, Charles R. Tripp, Clarksdale, Mo., Sheldon D. Tripp, Oklahoma City, and Michael R. Tripp, Los Angeles; a stepdaughter, Cheryl K. Gutierrez, Commerce City; two brothers, Gerald C., Broomfield, and James, Westminster; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandsons.
