551 | Donald only received up to the 6th grade education. Perry Chief, 03 Jul 1929 Unique Wedding Ceremony While Dawson has never had a sensational wedding, like in an airplana or in "the Little Brown church in the vale," nevertheless a very unusual ceremony took place Thursday morning at 10:30 on the roadside about 1 1/2 miles north of Dawson, just over the Greene county line, when Miss Mildred Lewis became the bride of Mr. Donald Nicholas. Rev. W. Z. Henline, pastor of the U.B. church read the marriage service. Those of the wedding party were Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Lewis, parents of the bride, Harold Lewis, brother of the bride, the bride's grandfather, J. E. Tolle and the pastor and his wife. It was a beautiful sight as these fine young people stood in the sunshine of the open country and plighted their vows in the presence of the minister and loved ones, immediately following the ceremony the newlyweds entered their car and started north for a short honeymoon trip in Minnesota. The wedding party returned to Dawson. Everyone will offer congratulations to the groom for he has chosen for a wife, one of Dawson's loveliest girls, one that will be to him a real helpmate. They will be at home to their friends on their return from their wedding trip in Dawson. Donald served in the U.S. Navy Seabees between 1943 and 1945. Donald's occupation was a contractor/Home builder between 1945 and 1973. | Nicholas, Donald Harve (I409)
