January 19, 2024 Zachary Nathaniel Locke, age 31.5, died January 19, 2024, following a lifelong battle with Epilepsy. Born July 11, 1993, in Denver, Colorado, he was the son of David E. Wilson (deceased) and Yevette Buehrer-Locke of Grand Junction, Colorado. Zachary attended Wheat Ridge High School and R5 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Zachary was always kindhearted and lived his life doing his best. He had a goofy sense of humor and could make most people laugh at his stories. He lived a very quiet life due to his health but lived vicariously through his siblings and family. He was a very talented artist who sketched and wrote poetry. He enjoyed the outdoors and the peacefulness and inspiration that it offered. He loved camping and fishing. Zachary was preceded in death by: David E. Wilson (father), Cory S. Locke (brother), Doris E. | 1669 | Obit for George S. Bear: George Sheldon Bear, 83,Goodland, a retired county employee,died Tuesday,Sept. 26, 2000, at the Good Samaritan Center in Goodland. He had lived there for three and a half years. He was born Feb. 20, 1917, in Thomas County, the son of Bessie(Thompson) and William Bear. He attended Garden Plains School, which was north of Brewster. As a young boy, he liked horses, football, baseball and feeding cattle. He graduated in 1936 from Brewster High School. After graduation, he went to California for a short time to work. He returned to Brewster to farm. He and Vivian Elaine McCall were married Sept. 23, 1939, in Russell Springs. They lived on a farm north of Brewster. He farmed until 1969, when the couple moved to Goodland. He worked at the Great Western Sugar Beet Factory for a short time. Then from 1973 to 1982, he worked for the Sherman County Highway Department. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He taught his grandchildren how to play checkers and pool. He enjoyed visiting with friends, playing cards, bowling, fishing, camping, taking drives to the country and going on trips to get ice cream. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Koons Chapel in Goodland with Pastor Jim Cress officiating. Burial will follow in the Brewster Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and before the service Friday at the chapel. Survivors include a son, Kermit L.Bear, Goodland; two daughters, Roberta S. Rehor, Goodland, and Cinda L. Speakman, Grand Junction, Colo.; a sister, Violet Miller, Colby; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1985; a son, Gary S. | 1670 | Obit: 01 Nov 1979 Louise C. Ahlvers Louise C. Reinking Ahlvers, daughter of Chris and Catherine Guhn Reinking, was born April 24, 1881, at Tipton, Kansas. She passed away at the Mid-America Nursing Home, Downs, on October 22, 1979, at the age of 98 years, 5 months and 28 days. Louise was baptized into the Lutheran faith in infancy and at the age of 14 she was confirmed. She was united in marriage to Fred Ahlvers on April 18, 1906, and to this union three children were born, Edward, Nora and Josephine. The family lived on a farm south of Glen Elder and later moved to Glen Elder. "Gramdma" loved to work in her flower garden, which she enjoyed very much. Preceding Louise in death were her parents, husband, Fred on Sept. 3, 1961, four brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her three children: Edward Ahlvers of the home, Mrs. Nora Fisher of Glen Elder, and Mrs. Josephine Konzem and her husband Lawrence of Downs; four grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Finley and family of St. Marys; Mr. and Mrs. Allen Fisher and family. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Marzolf and family and Mr. and Mrs. Don Bowles and family, all of Glen Elder; plus 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Millie Neumeyer, Downs; Mrs. Minnie Litke, Seneca; and Mrs. Katherine Kasky, Isanti, Minn.; and one brother, Carl Reinking of Downs; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 26 at 10:30 a.m. in the United Methodist Church in Glen Elder with Rev. Jerry Milleson officiating. Musicians were LaVern Harrison and Harry Harrison, vocalists and Mrs. Max Porter, organist. Casket bearers were Melvin Ahlvers, Clayton Kresin, Carl Lutgen, Marvin Odle, Edward Reinking and Adolph Tonne. Interment was in the Glenwood Cemetery, Glen Elder. | 1672 | Obit: Emil W. Tonne Emil W. Tonne of Tipton Kans., died Monday, April 27 1987 at the Osborne County Memorial Hospital at the age of 80 years. Emil was born July 1, 1906 to Charles and Anna Tonne on a farm near Glen Elder. He remained on the family farm until he married Vera Deloria Helvey on Oct. 23, 1935. They resided on a farm near Glen Elder until 1955 when they moved to Lincoln. Emil farmed and did custom harvesting in the Lincoln community until his retirement. In August of 1986, Emil moved to Tipton. Emil was preceded in death by brothers, Louis and Adolph, and by his wife, Deloria, in 1979. He is survived by one sister, Minnie Wiles of Beloit; two sons, Ronald of Salina and Larry, rural Beloit; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Emil was baptized and confirmed in the Tipton Lutheran Church as a child and remained in that faith throughout his life. Emil will be remembered as a kind, friendly, hardworking man who was always willing to help others. Although quiet mannered, he enjoyed competition such as feats of strength and fast cars in his younger years...to horseshoes later in life. He throughly enjoyed watching his sons and later his grandchildren in athletic competition and other activities. Emil never lost his keen sense of humor and mischievous nature. | 1674 | Obit: Helen Owens Dies at 56; Services Held Friday Funeral services for Helen Irene (Mrs. Floyd) Owens were held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 26, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Goodland. Revs. Merlin Kieffer and Bob Reif officiated. A wake service for family and friends was held at 7 p.m., Thursday at Koons Chapel. Burial was in the Goodland Cemetery. Mrs. Owens died Monday night at St, Anthony's Central Hospital in Denver, where she had been hospitalized since the last of April. She was 56. She was born June 23, 1921, in Brewster to Ivan and Frances Thompson. In 1929, her family moved from the Brewster area to a farm north of Edson. She attended schools in Edson. On Oct. 12, 1947, she married Floyd Owens in Goodland. He survives at the home. Following her marriage, she and her husband moved to a farm five miles southeast of Edson, where they were living at the time of her death. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Greg, Goodland, and Rod, Brent and Paul, all of the home; three daughters, Jeanette Habiger, Boise, Ida., Cynthia Kickler, Tribune, and Beth Owens, of the home; a brother, Harold Thompson, Olathe; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son and a brother. She was a member of St. Catherine's Circle, Smoky-Iowa EHU and Great Plains wire Committee. Memorials to the Kansas Heart Association may be left at Goodland State Bank, First National Bank or Koons Funeral Home. Music for the service was provided by Mrs. Raymond McCants at the organ, with Larry Koons soloist. She married Fredreick R. Sullivan on June 20, 1943 in Rockingham, North Carolina. They lived in various places. They moved from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Garden City, Kansas in 1962 and have lived in Garden City since. A homemaker, Sally was also the manager of the Elks Swimming Pool for several years. Sally and her husband also owned and opperated the Plaza Cue, The Keg, Five Points Motor Co. and Sullivan Retail Liquor. Sally enjoyed sewing, playing solitaire, cards, pool, bowling and current events. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters. Memberships: Sally was a member of the St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Sunday March 6, 2005 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. She was born Feb. 1, 1915, at Victoria the daughter of John and Katherine Schmidtberger Rupp. She married Emil Hoff Jan. 4, 1938, at Gorham. He died July 16, 1996. A resident of Victoria, coming from Russell, she worked at Ben Franklin and Duckwalls Stores and was a cook at Bickerdyke Grade School and the Russell High School, all of Russell. Mrs. Hoff was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Russell. Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Brungardt of Russell; one brother, Linus Rupp of Bushton; four sisters, Olinda Schantz of Colorado Springs, Colo., Sally Sullivan of Garden City, Alice Wasinger of Hutchinson and Tina Rome of Hays; and one grandchild. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2007 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with Father Dennis Atto as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2007 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. A Memorial Fund has been established in Isadora?s memory. Isadora was was born May 1, 1918 in York Township, Illinois, the daughter of Bernard and Catherine (Halfman) Manning. On December 30, 1937, Isadora married Irvin R. Senneff at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulton, Illinois. Irvin died on March 17, 1998 in Clinton, Iowa. Isadora enjoyed being a homemaker, most of all she enjoyed raising her children and being a grandmother. She helped her husband in the family business, ?Senneff Trucking? and also worked several years at National Lock Company and Eaton Corporation, both in Savanna. Isadora was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and past member of the Altar and Rosary Society, and a past President of Thomson School District PTA. Thompson, 26, was believed to have committed suicide at his farm home four miles north and two miles east of Goodland sometime Friday night or Saturday morning. Mr. Thompson early Friday afternoon told his wife, who is caring for the children at the home of her parents in Goodland because of illness, he would be back in Goodland Sunday noon. When he failed to return, Mrs. Thompson, accompanied by her father, Charles Adams, went to the farm home and found the body. They notified sheriff John Toelkes on their return to Goodland. The suicide was attributed to despondency over sickness in the family as well as Mr. Thompson's own ill health. As far as could be determined, Mr. Thompson shot himself sometime late Friday night or early Saturday morning. Thompson was born Sept, 20, 1924, in Sherman county. In former years, he was quite active in county 4-H work. He was married to Phyllis Adams in 1942 and to this union three daughters, Linda Kay, Karen Sue, and Janet Alliene, were born. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Thompson of Edson; one brother, Harold, Olathe; and one sister, Mrs. Helen Owens, Edson. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Christian church with the Rev. William Cook and the Rev. E.W. Burton officiating. Arrangements are being made by the Sage Funeral Home. | 1683 | Obit: Lineville Tribune, Leon Reporter, Iowa, March 14, 1895 Mr. David Ockerman, whose hopeless illness was mentioned in these columns, died at his home on West Third Street in Lineville on last Monday afternoon aged 75 years, 11 months and 4 days. The deceased was born in Kentucky, March 19, 1819, his father, Daniel Ockerman having been a native of Pennsylvania and one of the early settlers of Kentucky. The family moved to Highland County, Ohio in 1821, where the subject of this sketch was reared and educated. In 1839 the family emigrated to Decatur County, Indiana. Mr. Ockerman was married in Indiana October 15, 1840, to Mary S. Barr, and in 1854 with his wife and children, moved to Decatur County, Iowa, near Pleasanton, where they resided until 1878 when they removed to Lineville. Eight children were born to them, four only now living, Mrs. P.C. Hampton and Mrs. Luther Collier, of Mercer County, Missouri; Miss. Mary Ockerman of this place, and Mrs. Joshua Hampton, of Nebraska. Father Ockerman was an active member of the M.E. Church, and in his life was an example of Christian character. | 1684 | Obit: Louis Tonne Louis Henry Tonne was born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tonne south of Glen Elder, Ks., on January 15, 1902, and departed this life at nine 0'clock Wednesday morning, March 15, having reached the age of 48 years, two months. He had known for several years that his stay on this earth would not be of many years in length, and during the years God gave him here, his ambition was to make preparations for his family when he would be no longer with them. He spent practicaily his entire life in the community south of Glen Elder. He was baptized in infancy in Zion Lutheran Church at Tipton, Ks., and at the age of 15 was received into full communicant membership of the congregation by the rite of confirmation. His membership in the church had been transferred to the Lutheran Church at Beloit, of which he was a communicant member. On February 24, 1932, at Tipton he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Boohner. This union was blessed with two daughters: Marlene, 15, and Linda Lou, 4, both of the home. He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife and daughters; his mother, Mrs. Anna Tonne of Glen Elder; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Wiles of Glen Elder; two brothers, Emil of Glen Elder and Adolph of Cawker City. He also leaves other relatives and a host of friends. His father preceded him in death on August 27, 1939. He was a kind and thoughtful husband and father, a good neighbor, always ready and willing to help in time of need. The Rev. George Eller conducted funeral services at the Lutheran Church at 2:30 Saturday afternoon. Special music included two numbers by a mixed quartet: Mr. and Mrs. Dean Seidel, Mrs. Keith Gilbert and Noel Vetter, with Mrs. Roy Heller at the piano. Addie McAdams was born May 17, 1892 at Mercer, Mo., the daughter of William S. and Nancy Thompson. To this union two children were born. They moved to a ranch north of Laird in 1936 and later to Wray in 1955. They then came to Sherman County and engaged in the farming business in the eastern sector of the county. They retired in 1963 and purchased a home at 1501 Texas in Goodland. He was baptised and united with the Methodist Church, Brewster and took part in other community affairs. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. Burt was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister, and his son Carl, who died in 1958. He had been a resident at the home here for the past two years. He was born August. 8, 1883 at Mercer, Mo., to William S. and Nancy Ann Thompson. He came with his parents to Thomas County in 1903 to a farm north of Brewster and he grew to manhood in that area. He married to Florence Eppler on November 25, 1914 in Racine, Wis. Following their marriage they returned to farm north of Brewster in 1915 and then returned to Racine for a short time before returning to the Kelly ranch north of Brewster in 1917. They established their home in Brewster in 1930. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Brewster Methodist church and a former member of the Odd Fellows lodge at Brewster. A soldier with the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946, he served in the military police in the African Campaign. Following his discharge, he farmed and ranched until the time of his death. Susan was born April 2, 1949 in Sioux Falls, SD to Keith and Helen (Schwebach) Rodman. She grew up in the Dell Rapids and Sioux Falls area and moved with her family to Hot Springs where she attended and graduated from high school in 1967. She attended the National College of Business in Rapid City and later began her working career which included various positions, her first being a Secretary in the business office at Southern Hills General Hospital in Hot Springs. She married Fred Smith on August 2, 1969 at Smithwick, farmed and ranched with her husband for several years, then was employed as a Loan Processor for PCA in Hot Springs, was a Secetary at the Middle School in te Special Education Department and then became the Headstart County Coordinator. She returned to the farm at Oral until moving to Hot Springs in May of 1998. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Hot Springs VFW Auxiliary and served as the President of PTO in the Oral School District at the time when small, rural schools were being closed. Sue enjoyed spending her leisure time in reading, writing poetry, cooking and had a special affection for children. Along with her special love for her grandchildren she will be remembered for her big heart and sensitivity to even the slightest hurt, whether it be her own or those she loved or was close to. | 1695 | Obit: Thursday July 17, 1995, Eastern Colorado Plainsman - Page 9 Obituary Gwendal Leon Leonard Gwendal Leon Leonard was born April 16, (1935), to Warren E. Leonard and Kathryn M. (Nicholas) Inness at their home 10 miles east of Karval. He spent the early years working on the farm and was already driving wheat trucks to Hugo at the age of 10 for Jim Middleton. At the age of 18 he married his childhood sweetheart in June of 1953. They started their family in a small house one mile east of Karval. During the time they were building their family, Gwendal worked different places and jobs such as farming and truck driving. In 1959 he started working for the county road and bridge crew as a transportation safety technician (better known as a "grader man"). In 1970 he went to work for his father on the ranch east of Karval and later moved his family to the present homestead four miles east of Karval. It was during this time that he became the mentor to his children as they participated in school, sports, music, ranching and learning the general principles to prepare them for life. It was also during this time that they perfected the fine art of chasing coyotes and antelope, and especially to watch out for ravines and old basements. He started his community leadership in the early 60's by umpiring Little League, Babe Ruth and town team baseball. He and his wife became 4-H general leaders in 1965 where they led for 15 years. During this time he taught many young people how to square dance. After several years of farming and ranching he decided to run for county commissioner in 1981. After winning the election he served two terms from 1982 to 1990 as the best darn commissioner that Lincoln County ever had. During and after his term as commissioner his life branched out into many directions by joining lots of different organizations. He was a charter member of both the Karval Lions Club and the Karval Volunteer Fire Department where he served in most leadership roles in each organization. He also served on the Lincoln County EMS Council, the Alumni Association and the Lincoln County Stockmen's Association where he was the past president. In 1991 he became a member of the Lincoln Community Hospital Board where he was presently serving as chairman of the board. He served in a number of capacities in many other organizations and was always willing to lend a helping hand. During the course of his life some of his understudies included Red Skelton and the Smothers Brothers. It is probably because of these people that we enjoyed knowing him as a Homecoming Clown, Santa Claus, Tail Twister and overall entertainer and jokester wherever he went. Gwendal was diagnosed as having leukemia on April 22, 1995, and although he fought the disease with all his mite, he passed away July 15, 1995 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs at the age of 60. Gwendal is survived by his wife, Pat, his five sons, Allen and children Aaron, Adam and Cybil of Colorado Springs; Leon and his wife, Sandy, and their children Brooke, of Ordway; and Bill and Bill's wife, Tina., of Fowler (Gwendal's first great-grandchild is soon to arrive and is sure to be Bill and Tina's joy in their time of sorrow); his son Larry and his wife, Cindy and their children, Levi, Zane and Jake of Karval; Carlos and wife, Michelle and children, Tiffany, Shaun, and Colton of Karval, and Jenisha and Shayla Bowerman of Colorado Springs; Patrick and wife, Ginny, and children Micheal, Amanda, Jessica and Ashleigh of Karval; one daughter, Enola, of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by his sister, Onnalee Harrell and husband, Millard, and children Gwendolyn and Kelby and Kelby's wife, Stephanie of Elkhart, Kan.; his mother, Katheryn Innes of Elkhart, Kan., his mother in law Gladys Sherman of La Junta, a brother-in-law, Bill Sherman and wife Sandy; sister-in-law Ruth Wheeler and Guy Simone. Gwendal and Pat also provided a home for 17 foster children including Theresa, Sheryl, Bandon, Willie and Justin. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as his step-mother Marvis June of Limon. Funeral Services were held July 19 at the Karval School with Rev. Ron Clark officiating. The musical selection were a 'Tribute To Dad'. Casket bearers were Robert Elliot, Robert Webb, Robert Williams, Darrel Dutro, Lyle Hilferty, Robert Capps, Carl Johnson and Keith Capps. Honorary escorts were the Karval Lions Club, Karval Fire Department, Lincoln Community Hospital, Memorial Hospital Oncology, EMS Council, Lincoln County Stockmen, Lincoln County employees and the 4-H Foundation. | 1696 | Obit: Thursday, April 6, 1950 Death Anna Reinking Tonne Anna Margaret Wilhemina Reinking was born Jan. 10, 1880 to Christian and Catherine Guhn Reinking in the Tipton community and passed away March 31, aged 70 years, 2 months and 21 days at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hugh Wiles. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith in infancy and at the age of 14 years was confirmed and accepted into the Zion's Lutheran church at Tipton at which place she remained a member until death. She was united in holy marriage to Charles F. Tonne Sept. 20, 1900, this union was blessed with four children: Louie H., who preceded his mother March 15, 1950, Minnie L. Wiles and Emil W. of Glen Elder and Adolph F. of Cawker City. On Aug. 27, 1939 her life's companion and helpmate was called to his home in heaven. For several years she remained on the farm with her son Adolph, after which time she bought a home in Beloit and moved there. Her entire life was spent in the Tipton and Glen Elder community except about 3 years which was spent in Beloit. Early in 1949 her health would not permit her to live alone any more She then made her home with her children the most part of which was spent at the home of her daughter and husband. Although the last few weeks she suffered much pain and aorrow, she never complained, and always had a thought for a happier and brighter future. She is survived by six grandchildren, Marlene and Linda Lou Tonne, Darrel and Gene Wiles, Ronald and Larry Tonne; five sisters, Ida Ottley of Oakley, Louise Ahlvers Glen Elder, Millie Newmeyer and Minnie Litke, both of Alta Vista, and Kathryn Kasky of Lawrence; and three brothers, John, address unknown, Henry of Cawker City and Carl of Downs. Her father and mother, two sisters and two broters preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at Tipton at the Zion's Lutheran church by Rev. Engeike, April 3 at 2:30 p.m. Interment was made in the Rose Valley cemetery. Taking care of the flowers, were Mrs. Emil Kresin, Mrs. Bruce Gaston and Mrs. Marvin Odle. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003 at the Mercer United Methodist Church. Pastors Max Carmichael and Gary Ponder Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville, IA. Open visitation and viewing begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service in Princeton. A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, also at the funeral home. Mrs. Porter was born in Mercer County near South Lineville on Nov. 18, 1898, the daughter of Joe and Madora Cox Hampton. She was raised and lived most of her life in Mercer County, where she attended the Duncan rural school. Before her marriage, she worked in the Lineville telephone office as a central operator. She was a member of the Mercer United Methodist Church. Mrs. Porter was married March 1, 1922 in Princeton to Pearl Ira "Toby" Porter, who preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1971. The couple retired from farming in 1970 and moved to Mercer. Mrs. Porter is survived by one son, Bobby Porter of Mercer; five grandchildren, Jodi Barron and her husband, John, of Trenton, Dusti Treadwell and her husband, Scott, of Trenton, Michelle Newby of Des Moines, IA, Gary Porter and his wife, Marchella, of Mercer and Joe Turnbach and his wife, June, of Seattle, WA; one sister, Matilda Hickman of St. Joseph; and 16 great-grandchildren. | 1699 | Obit: Hazel Wilma Harrell, 72, died Saturday, August 25, 1979, at the Russell City Hopital, Russell, Kansas. She had been in the hospital since Wednesday. She was born December 11, 1906 to Walter Lee and Maude (Bishop) Dodson in Rooks County, Kansas, on the Webster Ranch, between Zurich and Webster. When she was one year old she and her family moved to Simila, Colorado, in a covered wagon to homestead. She attended her first year of school at Simila. Her family then moved to Lincoln County, Kansas, by covered wagon and lived there for six years. At that time Hazel's dad traded their Colorado Homestead for land northeast of Paradise. While they were living there, Hazel graduated from high school in Paradise and worked at the grocery store for several years. Hazel was appointed Postmaster of the Paradise, Kansas, Post Office in 1933. She retired from the Post Office in 1967. The Paradise community gave her a 34-year retirement celebration as Postmaster. Hazel and Clarence Everett "Dick" Harrell were married May 5, 1934, in Osborne, Kansas. To this union was born one son, Millard Lee. Dick died April 14, 1969, at Paradise, Kansas. Hazel moved to Russell in 1972 and was able to live in Elkhart, Kansas a few months at a time, from 1975 to 1978, to be with her grandchildren (Kelby and Gwendolyn Harrell) more. She was able to enjoy this past July 4th week with her family in Elkhart. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dick and one brother, Earl. Born on Oct. 12, 1922, in Tollerburg (Trinidad). Served in the U.S. Army during World War II, retired as a security guard for Pueblo Army Depot. Mr. Barela also worked 20 years for Pueblo County Board for Developmental Disabilities. He was a faithful working member of the American GI Forum Pueblo Chapter, DAV Chapter 39, Moose Lodge 19, Eagles Lodge, and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Barela was wounded during his service time and received a Purple Heart. Preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Charlotte Barela- brothers, Gilbert and Eloy Barela.
