| 138 | Also seen middle name as Lloyd. Obituaries: William L. Wright William L. Wright was born April 28, 1895 at Clifton, the son of Irving and Lona Wright. He died Sept. 12 at Thomas County Hospital at the age of 85. Mr. Wright moved to Brewster in 1922 and began working in the harvest fields. Later he was involved in farming and cattle buying. He retired at the age of 82. On Jan. 30, 1943 he married Mary Idonia Thompson in Brewster. Mr. Wright was a member of the Brewster United Methodist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher for the adult class. He was a member of the Brewster American Legion and served with the U.S. Army in Germany during World War I, where he was wounded in action. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a stepson, John Tracy, Brewster; a sister, Minnie Wright, Denver; his stepmother, Bertha Wright; a half-brother, Glenn Wright, Riley; four step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Sept 16 in the Brewster United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe Coachman officiating. Burial was with military honors in the Brewster Cemetery. Pallbearers were Warren Reid, LaVelle Michael, Virgil Parker, Lyman Goetsch, Jerald Wolfe and Kenneth Eicher. Case No. 80-P-34 Notice of Hearing and Notice to Creditors State of Kansas to all persons concerned: You are hereby notified that on the 8th day of October, 1980, a Petition was filed in this Court by Mary I Wright, sole and only heir; devisee and legatee and Executrix named in the Last Will and Testament of W.L. Wright, deceased, dated June 6, 1968, and the Codicil thereto, dated June 26, 1980, praying that the Will filled with the Petition be admitted to probate and record; that Mary I. Wright be appointed as Executrix to serve without bond. You are required to file your written defenses thereto on or before the 31st day of October, 1980, at 2:00 o'clock p.m., in said day, in said Court, in the City of Colby, in Thomas County, Kansas, at which time and place said cause will be heard. Reinking Married April 4, 1879 - Many Help Celebrate Mr. and Mrs. Chris Reinking widely known and highly respected citizens of Tipton, on Thursday, April 4th, 1929, observed the fiftieth return of their wedding day. But a limited number of married couples are granted such a privilege. In accordance with the wish of the jubiliant pair, both of whom are loyal members of the Lutheran Church at Tipton appropriate services were conducted in Zion's Lutheran Church, a large number of relatives, friends and acquaintances participating. The local pastor J. Kiesow, briefly addressed the celebrating couple in both the American and German language, taking for his texts Romans 8, 38-39, and Isaiah 46, 4. The Quartet consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Will Seidal, Mrs. Warren Hobbi* and J.H. Pottberg, accompanied by Kathryn Reinking renedered two beautiful selections, entitled "I Shall Be Like Him" for their first number and "Silver Threads Among the Gold." as their concluding song. After the services at the Church the celebration continued on the Reinking farm northwest of town. A beautiful basket dinner was served under the direction of the Ladies Aid of Zion's Lutheran Church. The afternoon was spent in pleasant conversation, all present enjoying a good time. The dinner room was beautifully decorated in Gold and White crepe paper, te streamers leading to a gorgeous Angel Food Cake, that was presented to the honorees by their children, which was baked and decorated by Margaret Greif. The honored couple received many beautiful and useful gifts from those present, in the late afternoon all departed wishing Mr. and Mrs. Reinking many more happy years together. At about nine o'clock the Tipton Band surprised them and came to their home in town and played three beautiful selections for them, which pleased them very much. Mr. Reinking was born at West Palia, Germany, April 27th, 1850, when 6 weeks old, his mother passed away and at the age of 7 years his ****** passed away leaving h*** **** when 17 he came to America working at Iowa and in **** *he earlier settlers taking a homestead in Osborne county. On April 4th 1879 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Miss Katherine Gunn, who was born in Schleswich Holstein, Germany, October 17, 1861. In 1875, she came to America with her parents living in Osborne county, living there only a short time after their marriage, they moved to Mitchell county on a farm 1 1-4 miles north of Tipton, where they resided until they moved to their retired home in Tipton, in the fall of 1927. Mr. and Mrs. Reinking celebrated their Silver Wedding anniversary 25 years ago and this month had the honor to celebrate their fiftieth which is a destination not many reach. To their union thirteen children were born, nine of whom are living and all had the pleasure of being with their parents that day with the exception of one son, John, who lives in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Reinking have 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. May the remainder of the life of the principal celebrants in this rare event be fraught with such blessings as flow from the inexhaustable source of divine grace in Christ Jesus. Obit: Deaths Catherine Reinking Catherine Guhn was born October 17, 1861, in Schleswig Holstein, Germany, to Hans Guhn and wife, and died Nov. 12, at the age of 88 years and almost one month. Here elementary and religious instruction was received in the home school, and at the age of 14 she was received into membership in the Lutheran church by the rite of confirmation. In 1876 she and her parents came to Tipton, where their first home was a sod house on the prairie. On April 4, 1879, she was united in marriage with Christ Reinking, and he preseded her in death in 1935. They lived on a farm until they retired and bought a home in Tipton. This was her home until a few years ago when she came to Beloit to live with her daughter, Anna Tonne. She was the mother of tirteen children, four of whom died, and one son left home after serving in World War I and was never heard from again. Those surviving her are Mrs. Anna Tonne, Beloit; Mrs. Louise Ahlvers, Glen Elder; Mrs. Ida Ottley, Oakley; Mrs. Emily Newmeyer, Alta Vista; Henry Reinkink, Cawker City; Mrs. Minnie Litke, Alta Vista; Carl Reinking, Downs; and Mrs. Kasky, Lawrence; and a sister, Mrs. Rose Hobbie. Of the grandchildren, there are 21; great grandchildren, 26; and great-great grandchildren, 2. A total of 57 direct and living decendants survive her. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and remained a communicant member of the Zion Lutheran Congregation at Tipton. She lived 73 years in the Tipton community. Funerad services were held at the Zoin Lutheran church November 15, with Wm. Engelke in charge. Interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery. Pallbearers were Edward Ahlvers, Emil Tonne, Adolf Tonne, Hugh Wiles, Lawrence Konzen and Carl Lutgen.
