Hi,
Im not sure why you cannot see the email and photos I sent, but I resent them to you.
If Col is willing to read my bit, that would be great
I want to be there, but cannot afford it, but I will honor Brians wish, and will still be coming in June 2023 for the month of June, he was happy I would be there with you Jill ??

My speach/ memorys

My son, Logan and I were talking this morning about Grandpa, dad , Brian.
We are very sad and miss him terribly.

Logan said he knows his Grandpa was very proud of him, he told him every time he talked with him.,
He knows Grandpa loves him, he told him every time he talked with him.
He knows his Grandpa is kind, he showed it every time he talked to him.
Logan loves his Grandpa.

Now I know Dad as a parent, he was a human, who made mistakes, and learnt from them, he always tried, he did not give up, and I hope I am half the person he was, I love my dad.
My dads nick name for me as a child was" Murtle" apparently as a child I did not want to walk and crawled a lot, I was Murtle the turtle, lol.
Dad always bought me a bunch of purple violets on my birthday, every year.
He would walk to the train station and catch the train to and from work, we would wait in the drive way when he was due to come back, looking up the street, the first one to see him would take off racing up the street, to catch dad, and walk next to him back to our house.
I blame dad for my love of Star Trek amd MASH, we went to bed when they came on TV, but I would often sneak back into the TV room and sit on the floor next to dad and watch the shows with him, being one of 4 children it was lovely to have that time with him to myself.

I am terribly proud of Brian , as a person, an individual, I am lucky I got to know him as an adult and witness his strength of character, his loyality to his friends and family, his love for his wife Jill Storey.

Brian would invite me along to the Wine service Guild functions, we created wonderful memories with people that are more like family than friends.
One trip we visited a wonderful winery that had barrels of ports and sherrys, and we poured your own samples, the name of the winery escapes me, but my friends and I thought is was fabulous !
We " tasted" all of the ports and sherrys, there was 10 or more of them, then forgot which ones we liked best and had to taste them all again, lol.
Back on the bus, dad asked me, " did l like the winery " l was kind of giggly at this point, and said it was great, Brian, smiled at me and went to his seat, I think my friends and l fell asleep on the bus trip home , lol.

As a child/ teenager/ young adult it is difficult to see your parent remarry,
But as an adult I am so very happy Brian chose/ and was chosen by Jill,
A wonderful friend and partner to Brian, a good friend to me and a awesome grandma to our son Logan.
It is/ was a true equal partnership in which they both thrived. I am so happy they found each other.

When Brian worked with The Department of defence, he frequently , at the urging of his daughter( me) got us a " private tour on the Australian and foreign Navy ships that were docked in the bay.
I was thrilled and had more than one party at my place with all my girlfriends and homesick saliors, lol.

Midnight curfews for the saliors sucked, and we often arrived at the dock with minutes to spare, and sailors running up the gang planks to be on time.
I ended up marrying a " Yank ", no he is not a salior, lol,
but he is a Star Trek geek, just like me ;)

I got my love of surf fishing from Brian, I loved sitting at the beach, rod propped in a tube, line baited and cast into the water, just relaxing, Brian smoking his pipe, being happy in each others company.

One night , Brian and I drove to a beach, getting there just as the tide turned, setting up, relaxing.
I had a broken engagement, Brian had purchased some champane, for the never to be wedding, and brought a bottle for us to share while fishing.

Well as luck happened I caught a shark, legal size limit, so we decided to keep him, Brian looked in his gear, realizing he had forgotten to bring the priest, ( a small baseball bat ) so he pulled out the bottle of champagne and knocked the shark on the head instead, then we drank the champagne. Lol.

I know Brian loved me, he called me "Lisa love" on the phone when we talked, he told me he loved me, and he told me he is/ was proud of me.

I love you Grandpa, Dad, Brian.
Lisa Storey Thompson.
