  Never Married. No Children. Obit: Edward F. Ahlvers Edward Frederick Ahlvers. the only son of Fred W. and Louise Reinking Ahlvers, was born March 13, 1907, on a farm south of Glen Elder, Ks. His death came Saturday afternoon, September 7, 1985, at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Grand Island, Nebr. He was 78 years old. Ed attended the Lone Hill Rural school. He was a farmer and stockman until he entered the service in October, 1942. He served in WW II in the U.S. Army as a Tech 5th Grade in the 1064th Engineer Forestry Co. He was in both the European African Middle Eastern and the Pacific theaters of war. He was discharged in December, 1945. Ed returned home to continue farming until he retired three years ago. he was a member of the Lutheran Church of Tipton, the American Legion of Glen Elder, and a life-time member of the Beloit V.F.W. Ed leaves his two sisters, Nora Fisher of Glen Elder and Josephine Konzen and her husband Lawrence of Downs; a nephew, Allen Fisher of Downs; three nieces, Louise Finley, Onaga, Ks., Rebecca Marzolf, and Caroline Bowles, both og Glen Elder, and their families, and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Edwin Fisher.
